Is GarageShare free?

Yes, completely free for residents, always. We keep the lights on through local business ads, never by charging neighbors.

How is my address used?

Your address confirms you actually live in your association and builds your neighborhood's private directory. Neighbors only see your street, never your house number, unless you opt in. You can optionally scan your license for a Verified badge; we read it to confirm your name and address, then delete the image immediately. It is never stored.

Who can see my tools and message me?

Only verified neighbors in your own association. Tools, the directory, and community messages are all scoped to your association. No strangers, no spam.

My HOA isn't listed. Can I add it?

Yes. On sign-up, tap “+ Add it,” type your association's name and state, and we'll find the official listing. You confirm the match by email, it goes live, and you get a link to invite your neighbors.

How do I invite my neighbors?

From Home or your Profile, tap “Invite neighbors” to get a shareable link. Anyone who joins through it lands right in your association (they still add their address).

How do I borrow a tool?

Find a tool in your feed, open it, and tap “Request to borrow” with your dates. The owner accepts, you pick it up, and you return it when you're done. After a return you can rate your neighbor.

I run a local business. How do ads work?

Pick a monthly plan (Neighbor $79, Block $149, Zone $299), choose the neighborhoods you want to reach, and we write three ad versions for you to pick from. Your ad shows as a clearly-labeled “Sponsored” card to verified residents. Cancel anytime.
